Sustainable Future - week 2 day 3

I got my model printed today. At first glance, I thought it was printed out perfectly. However, the model was very small, but I expected this as I measured it to be small when I was creating the model on Solidworks. I was thankful that I have put a thick base for my beach hut, since the model is small so when I put it in the jar it won’t sit right at the bottom, but in the middle. When I took a closer look at my model, I noticed the table and the chairs did not get printed. I assume the reason being, is because it was too small to be printed. This teaches me a lesson for if the next time I do 3D printing, the details cannot be too small, as it won’t get print. I also noticed that the frames of the hut were starting to break.  It was because the frames were too thin, so it became easier to break. This made me regret that I did not make a slightly bigger model. I should have made an appropriate size model, then to find a jar that could fit the model inside. Instead, I did the opposite and found a small honey jar at home, and it restricted me to make a model that is small enough to fit inside that jar.

I brought my jar in, as I knew everyone’s model was going to be printed today. When I put my model inside the jar, it took me by absolute surprise that it could not fit in. The beach hut could fit inside, but the problem was the base. Even with the constant measuring of the jar, and I clearly remember that I left a few centre metres out. This was not what I expected, and still not know why it has happened. It came as a disappointment, but it was resolved very easily by buying a bigger jar.
