I had to produce a design piece that would be communicating for
my own exhibition that happens in 2033.
I made 10 designs in my sketchbook, and I chose one to
develop as my final piece. However, I left it to the actual day to decide on
what I was going to do. I’m very disappointed how I didn’t use my time wisely,
so I would have brought the right materials I need with me for the day. I ended
up spending most of the time testing out colours and materials, which I should
have done in advance.
I thought I didn’t execute the work well. I overdid with the
colours. I thought it was too plain to have a white background, so I changed it
to a colour background. However, it actually did look much better with a white
background. I did not felt my work was finish, so I added lots of different
colour oil pastels, however it just looks like too much is going on. If I was
to redo the work I would strip down on the use of colours, and probably a
different choice of medium, like watercolours or felt tips. I manage to finish
on time, but I still wasn’t happy with the way the work turned out.
I took on board on other peoples work, how simple and little
they did but work so effective visually. A peer made a book which I
thought was a very good idea and different compare to everyone else. I also
notice looking at other people’s work that they named their exhibition and
given dates and times. These are the things that I should consider adding the
next time I do something similar to this task.
