I finished making my model plus the extension building and took photographs of my construction from different angles. I had actually taken my model home to carry on making it, and brought it back to finish it off as I worried that I may not finish it off. After bringing the model back I see the side effects of using cardboard as it has become more fragile especially the outer shell of the building as I have curved it before making it more floppy. This makes me wonder whether I should have used polypropylene instead and the floors and furniture’s to be made out of cardboard's. I felt that the curve of the building has loss its shape, and looks different to the way I originally designed it. However, I am still impressed with the outcome and that I have finally completed the model. Also, I have added the elements I originally missed out on into my model, to create a design that meets the requirements of the people who ill populate the space.
In the afternoon, I went to the library and did research
into the materials that I would use to construct the building. I also research
into buildings that already existed and have similar form as mine, and see how
the structure was made.
I thought I used my time wisely and had time to do research in the library. I
took my model home to try and finish it off and brought it back in, so I don’t
have a lot to do. I realize that I take a lot of time taking photographs of my
model, from the outside to the inside and at different angles. Also, I used lighting
from clip on lights to create shadows on wall. I think I took nearly an hour to
be satisfied with taking pictures of my model. It gives me a hard time when I
have to select a few photographs I will need for the presentation and this post
for the blog. Next time, I should take a picture and look back at it to know
whether or not it turned out well before deciding to take another image or move
on to a different angle.
