Today, we collaborated with the fashion students. We were put into groups of three, but not long after another 3D student joined our group.
We all took out what we brought and just came up with any ideas base on what we have available. For example, an accessory from a dress we thought cutting it out and be used as decoration, even though we have not decided on what to make. Another example would be the green tea bottle, we came up with the idea it could be a tower. We cut the bottle in half, so it could be shorter, and the leftover part we decided it could be a house. We used the cardboard from my hair dye box to make the roof. This was the way how our group generated ideas. We decide we would make a head piece, which consists of a miniature garden, house and tower.
We decided to paper mache the house. The moment we all agreed on it, we went straight into it since it will take time for the glue to dry. I thought we were good at prioritising what we need to do first.

A peer came up with the idea of making an origami flower, which we can put all the components inside the flower. We first watched a video from YouTube that teaches you step by step on how to fold the flower. We all worked together to fold the flower. It was quite challenging since the brown paper was thicker, so it was harder to fold.
What did not go well was near the end we came to a halt when we thought about how we will attach the head piece on to the head of my peer, who was selected by majority vote to be the model.
We came up with the idea of using another piece of brown paper to create a cone that would fit on to the side of the head, since we want the head piece to be positioned on the side of her head. Also, we attached a ribbon on both side of the head piece and tied the piece around her head. We also used hair clips to secure the piece on her head. A teaching staff gave us the idea of tying a ribbon around the head, to stable the piece on the head.
What I will do next is to go back to doing my project. I will begin doing drawings of my origami, developing them into a pod for living.
I think what
I will do differently is at the beginning to do some drawings and planning on
what we will be creating. This is because we finished about 10 minutes early,
and we thought whether to add more to the piece, extending the garment to the
neck and shoulders. We thought we should have done more, but we did not have
enough time to create more than what we have done.
